Please note that with repetitive use in the same area of the Hair-On-Hide, balding or hair loss should be expected.

Backing

Salmagundi rugs are handcrafted and feature a non-woven backing. All hair-on-hide designs are stitched and bonded to this backing, providing the durability needed for high-traffic areas. Each corner will display a grip strip which ensures the corners will lay flat.

Care & Cleaning

Keep your rug safe from exposure to direct sunlight, too much sunlight may dry out the hide, causing the dyed hair hides to fade. Annually rotate rugs 180 degrees to maintain even wear, enhance longevity, and reduce balding or hair loss. Regular vacuuming on a low or gentle setting will remove surface dirt. We recommend to avoid using a beater brush to clean the hair-on-hide. Lightly mop with clean water.
